ROMP leads and participates in a number of events throughout the year;
some of our regular ones are listed below.
Of course, don't forget about our ongoing volunteer work,
rides.
Be sure to read the latest newsletter or check the online calendar to learn
about the latest happenings.
Monthly Meetings
All ROMP meetings are open to members and non-members alike.
Please stop by to see what we are doing and to participate in the local biking
community. Monthly meetings are where the vast majority of ROMP business is
conducted, including policy development issues, budgets, and cyclist education.
- Date: fourth Monday of each month, except December
- Time: 7 PM
- Location: Please check the calendar for the current location
Annual Events
- California Trail Days (late April) --
Each year ROMP conducts trail work and leads rides as part of this state-wide event.
- Swap Meet (last Sunday in April) --
Each year ROMP hosts a swap meet.
The swap meet is a fund-raiser for ROMP and a place where cyclists can purchase
road and mountain bike parts, tools, frames, complete bikes, clothing and accessories.
Per-person admission charge is minimal. The meet is held behind the
Cupertino Bike Shop, 10493 S. De Anza Blvd.
(two blocks south of Stevens Creek Blvd.). Call 408-255-2217 for prices on swap spaces.
- National Trail Days (early June) --
Each year ROMP conducts trail work and leads rides as part of this national event.
- ROMP Annual Picnic (late summer) --
We gather annually for a picnic featuring rides of varying levels, games, and socialization.
- Board Elections (late November) --
ROMP's board is elected annually by member voting at a regular meeting.
- ROMP 'n STOMP --
The first ROMP 'n STOMP was held in 1989 when 46 mountain cyclists and 26 equestrians
came together for a group ride and barbecue.
This event demonstrated that equestrians and cyclists can share the trails without conflict.
Since then, many more ROMP 'n STOMPs have occurred,
and the event has become an annual tradition.
- Christmas Party --
Our annual holiday party in December.
2003's featured Julie Furtado as guest speaker!
It was good food and a good time with Julie's racing and industry insider stories.
