 | 2008 IMBA Trail Care Crew
Anna and Jason Came out to Henry Coe State Parks despite potential closure to do some maintenance on Middle Ridge and rebuild the bottom of Cougar trail after damage from heavy fire fighting Machinery. We had great attendance and got a lot of trail work done.

 | 2007 IMBA Club Care Crew Visit
We hosted IMBA's Club Care crew late in 2007. We had a "gala" ride at El Corte de Madera and then went to Alices restaurant to learn more about building the club. It was great!

 | 2007 Coe Ride post fire
In September of 2007 a fire burned 47,000 acres of Henry Coe State Park. The Lick Fire was the biggest fire in the park, even larger than the one in 1962. There will be a lot of work to do to get the trails back into shape. All four riders were wearing Shimano sandals and the tarantulas were out and about.

Freak rains in September moved the picnic from Twin Pines Park to Passion Trail Bikes. A few die hards rode in Waterdog Lake Park in Belmont. Great food from Patrick and good times for all. 50 people registered to bbq and camp at Dowdy Ranch in Henry Coe State Park. On Sunday, we rode the IMBA epic course on a beautiful Spring day that started with fog in the canyons and high 80's in the afternoon. A special thanks to Specialized, Fox, Trailhead Cycles, passion Trail Bikes, Sports Basement and especally Sunshine bikes whose donations helped make the event a huge success

It was a beautiful weekend. I had no idea how wonderful it could be to volunteer at an event and still be able to enjoy some great riding that is too far out for most of us to see from Hunting Hollow. I recommend it to anyone.

 | 2006 ROMP n Gearhead Earthday
A few of us headed over to Pacifica to set up a booth and chack out the scene in Pacifica yesterday, to help celebrate Earthday.
Pacifica is a wonderful location where the ocean meets the mountains in a very personable, friendly way. There is definitely a more laid back, "island" kind of atmosphere - the ocean has that effect on me - I imagine it has that effect on everyone.
The day started with a short easy ride up the old highway to the "saddle" and a brief hike a ways up some of the more rugged trails in the area. Our guide, Jim Sullivan, regaled us with tales of trail building, advocacy and plain old fun. I would have loved to ride some of them, but alas I just got out of a cast and the doctor told me not to fall for a few more weeks. I got the impression that there was a tremendous variety of trails in the area, and that all user groups were always having positive user experiences, with the exception of some illegal motorcycle use.
I was amazed by the numbers of flowers - Johnny Jump ups, Wild Irises, and Blue Blossom that were blanketing the verdant mountain sides. Whoah! The Colors!
The afternoon was spent under the ROMP tent, listening to live Blues, Grundge and Funk, and talking to the natives about the recent Golden Gate National Recreation Area acquisition in Half Moon Bay, and raising awareness about advocacy in general.

Over thirty Mountain Bikers headed down to Morgan Hill to participate in the opeing of 14 miles of multi use fire roads. Santa Clara county parks is going to build single track, and possibly conncetions into Henry Coe State Park.
